Andy COMMANDER'S COMMENTS

Our December banquet seems like a long time ago now. We were looking
for something different and we certainly got it. The location in Church
Hill was quaint and cozy and we had a full house. I would have liked to
have returned but I think we will continue to look for new options. If
anyone has a recommendation let me know. The program was on the history
of Christmas including how it was celebrated in the mid-1800s. Since
this was a new program for the presenters, it did take a bit of research
for them to put it together. They even recruited our old friend Jeff
Burden to assist with the presentation.

Our meeting next Tuesday will be on the 196th anniversary of the birth
of Stonewall Jackson in 1824. The Lee-Jackson Camp invites us to
celebrate General Lee's birthday with them at the Confederate Chapel
this Sunday, January 19 at 1:30. The speaker will be William Connery
addressing the topic of "President Robert E. Lee". He made this talk
at our camp several years ago dealing with his final public service at
Washington College. I hope you will that time on Sunday to join other
compatriots in honoring General Lee while we are still permitted to do
so.

Commemoration Service on Sunday, January 19th 1:30 pm., the 213th
